How the estimate works
The estimate annualizes the pay period you choose, adds any annual bonus, subtracts eligible pre-tax retirement contributions and the standard deduction, then applies the 2026 federal tax brackets for your filing status. It separately estimates state income tax and employee Social Security and Medicare taxes.
State income-tax rules differ. This quick estimate applies a representative state rate and deduction and excludes local income taxes, most state credits and multi-state allocation. It is a planning estimate, not payroll processing or tax-return preparation.
Actual paychecks also reflect Form W-4 elections, pay-period withholding tables, insurance, retirement-plan limits and other benefits. Qualified overtime and tip deductions enacted for 2026 are not included in this estimate.
